Noémie de Rothschild’s involvement in launching and developing the winter sports resort
Arte has filmed a special television programme about Megève and the chic image portrayed by winter sports.
In the report, Baroness Benjamin de Rothschild talks about Noémie de Rothschild, who in the 1920s, set about creating a new winter sports resort to rival its extremely popular counterpart in Saint-Moritz in Switzerland. An active and pugnacious character, Noémie de Rothschild surrounded herself with the very best architects and builders of that time in order to transform this rural village into an internationally renowned ski resort.
