Le Golf du Mont d’Arbois is the oldest stylised mountain golf course. Designed by celebrated British champion Henry Cotton, this 18-hole course is located on a south-facing plateau at an average altitude of 1320 metres, surrounded by splendid alpine scenery.
However, its uniform gradient (maximum 150m) means that Le Golf du Mont d’Arbois can be likened to a flat-land golf course. The gentle slope means players can focus their energy on their swing while taking in the beautiful surroundings. Coming onto green No. 14, the course’s highest point, golfers experience a panoramic view from the Col de Véry to the Mont Joly range, including the Aiguille de Varens overlooking the Arve valley.
Le Golf du Mont d’Arbois also hosts a number of amateur and professional competitions, the most iconic of which are the “Pro Am Baronne Maurice de Rothschild”, the “Trophée Clarke-Coupe des Chefs” and the “Green Velvet -Domaine du Mont d’Arbois”. And the Snow Golf Cup is an event in itself when, in deepest winter, the course is readied for an astonishing snow golf competition.
